Welcome to the University of Exeter Law Society
Our Mission Statement

The University of Exeter Law Society (UELS) is committed to supporting members throughout their time at university and into their professional careers, regardless of the path they choose. We foster an inclusive, engaging environment where students are empowered academically, professionally, and personally. From firm-led workshops and networking events to society sports and socials, UELS offers a wide range of opportunities for members to grow both within and beyond the legal sphere.

Our careers offering continues to expand, with a structured programme, namely our Careers Series, covering applications, commercial awareness, and firm insights. Invaluable partnerships with leading law firms, chambers, and legal professionals allow us to host high-profile events such as the Careers Dinner and Bar Dinner, connecting students with the legal sector in meaningful ways. We are also proud of our growing pro bono initiatives, including our Schools Outreach Programme, which currently involves over 120 student volunteers.

Academic support remains central to what we do. Through student-led study groups, unput from our academic officers, and close collaboration with the Law School, we offer tailored events directly responding to our members' needs. Equally important is our commitment to fostering a strong and welcoming studen network through our social calendar, family system, and our Winter and Spring Balls.

Additionally, we are growing our sports and wellbeing activities, from football and netball to our newly launched run club and regular coffee mornings. UELS is more than a society; it's a community, a support system, and a platform for personal and professional growth.
